New Patients…
The more thorough your dental examination, the more intelligently we can diagnose and help you develop and maintain optimum oral health. Therefore, we would like to acquaint you with the customary sequence of procedures for a new patient in our practice
During the initial examination we will conduct a thorough examination including: medical and dental history, necessary diagnostic tests, intra-oral photos, x-rays, and a comprehensive visual and manual oral examination. Based upon our findings, we will discuss any problem issues relating to treatment and form a treatment plan to properly remedy the issues. Cleanings, if simple, may be completed on the first visit. At the conclusion of the visit, if further treatment is needed, our office manger will discuss the financial responsibilities including any insurance information prior to your next scheduled visit. If further treatment is not necessary, your 6 month appointment can be made the same day.
Your initial visit, including cleaning if simple, will be around 90 minutes.
If emergency treatment should be necessary on the first visit for pain relief or to protect any tooth, then the initial dental examination will be completed on the second visit.
Please come 10 minutes early for your initial visit. This allows your information to be entered into our system. Please bring any dental insurance information you have. We directly participate with Delta Dental of NJ and certain Anthem Blue Cross / Blue Shield plans. As a courtesy to our patients, we will prepare and submit claims to any insurer, in network or not.
